Sherpa
UX DESIGN • UX RESEARCH
Sherpa is a startup company with an idea of creating a financial app that will let it's users learn about investing through their trusted social network of friends and family. By letting others see their financial scores, as well as using their proprietary algorithm, users can learn not only what to invest in, but how to invest to create a diversified portfolio.
Goal
To validate that younger investors will embrace a financial app that integrates investing with learning from their friends and trusted social groups.
Process
Competitive Analysis • Interviews • Surveys • Personas • Wireframes • Prototypes
We first took a look at the competitive space of financial apps and saw what was working with them and what could be improved upon. Next, we put out a survey to ask users what they liked about financial apps and how they use them. From this survey, we created low fidelity wireframes to test the concept of the social aspects of the app with interviews.
With the data received from the interviews, low fidelity prototypes and personas were created, to further test the social concept, as well as the user interactivity of the app through interviews. From this data, final high fidelity prototypes were made and tested for usabilty with users.
Mobile App
Website
To get users interested in the app, we created a website that talks a little bit about the app and gives them a link to the app store.
Future goals
To add in a group investing option, so that users could invest with their social network.
Create a podcast about investing to help Sherpa be viewed as a credible and authoritative app in the financial community.
